Can I just put this old recliner out with my regular trash? When is leaf pick up in my neighborhood? I have a question about my electric bill, but I can’t remember who my provider is.

Whether you are a renter or a home owner, you will inevitably have questions or concerns about services available in your area. Many times, it can be difficult to track down the providers of these services in order to address an issue at hand. My water doesn’t seem to be working. Naturally, I’ll call the water department.  But where do I go to vote for primaries? Can I use the nearby park for a large, private event? Some questions may not be so easily answered.

This is where 311 comes into play. Simply pick up a phone, dial “311” and you will be connected to a “liaison” that is trained to connect you with the information you need. Even if they can’t answer a specific question you may have, they will put you in touch with someone that can. South Bend 311 is available during normal business hours to answer questions about services provided by the City of South Bend. There is also an online portal containing a wealth of information available 24/7.
